Yes, there’s been more travel and such that’s kept me away from writing…
But oh! So many stories to tell!
As has been my tradition here, I’ll have to tally the new miles later, but speaking of elapsed miles…
Not to open with a downer, but… one of my old college friends…
A few nights ago his ex-wife had a brain aneurysm out of the blue. She was in a coma, and not expected to survive. She passed away last night around 9:30 PM.
No matter what happened between them, she was still a buddy of ours, and either way, we have great memories from when they were together, which is when we mostly saw her, except for dribs and drabs over the years.
We’ve all been reminiscing online together for much of this morning, remembering those good memories, including a taco cook-off between another friend and her, which I had a hand in judging, lol. (Despite putting her all, her heart and soul into her tacos, she didn’t win, but that’s a different story for a different day.)
The positive out of this is to remember to live each day as best as we can, amidst the realities of real life, and a reminder that those little things, like a simple taco dinner competition done on a dare, amongst friends, just fooling around, can be a life-long memory, one that everyone instantly remembered this morning… and although I was the first to bring it up, I wasn’t the only one to be thinking of it at that moment, either.
So I leave you with these thoughts, and it is my mood for today, and every day.
Enjoy the little things.
RIP, Miss S.
